A floor pump built for low pressure

In 1988, Silca saw mountain biking taking off in the US and built the Terra, the first high-volume, low-pressure pump made for bigger tires. Thirty-plus years later, the Terra is back as one of the most refined low-pressure pumps you can buy, and it still handles road pressures too.

The key is a non-linear gauge. It reads in 0.5 psi steps at the low end and 2 psi steps near the top of its 120 psi range, and half the dial covers 0 to 30 psi. That's exactly where gravel and mountain bike tires live, so you can actually see the difference between 22 and 23 psi.

It keeps Silca's classic all-metal construction and turned ash handle, with a lever-operated chuck based on the award-winning Tattico mini pump. The all-metal chuck switches between Presta and Schrader with a threaded reversible cap and has a built-in bleed button. Each stroke moves 318cc of air.

Specifications

  • Non-linear gauge: 0.5 psi precision at low pressure, 2 psi near 120 psi
  • Rated to 120 psi
  • Lightweight aluminum barrel
  • Full-size ash wood handle with hose guide
  • Locking Presta/Schrader chuck with bleed button
  • 318cc per stroke
